From One Barn to 22 Years Platinum: HyLife Named One of Canada’s Best Managed Companies
HyLife’s story began in rural Manitoba in 1994, with a small prairie farming operation and a big vision.
What started with one barn has grown into a fully integrated premium pork company with deep Manitoba roots and a global reach. Today, HyLife employs more than 2,600 people, supports thousands of additional jobs across the agricultural supply chain, and delivers premium pork products to more than 20 countries worldwide.
Now, that journey has reached another meaningful milestone.
HyLife has once again been named one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies by Deloitte, maintaining its Platinum Club status for than two decades.
Presented by Deloitte, Canada’s Best Managed Companies is one of the country’s leading business awards programs, celebrating Canadian-owned and managed companies that demonstrate excellence in strategy, capabilities and innovation, culture and commitment, governance, and financial performance.

“Our company thrives because of our people. This recognition reflects their dedication, passion, and commitment to delivering excellence every day. From our farms and feed mills to our processing, logistics, sales, and support teams, each person plays an important role in helping HyLife continue to grow as a premium pork company. We are proudly rooted in Canada and trusted around the world,” shared Karan Sangfai, President and CEO, HyLife.
HyLife’s success has always been built by people who take pride in doing things right. That same dedication has helped the company grow into one of North America’s leading integrated pork producers. Over the past year, HyLife has continued to strengthen its people-first culture through initiatives such as We Care, expanded Learning and Development programs, and ongoing continuous improvement projects. These efforts support employee well-being, career development, operational excellence, and the company’s ability to adapt in a changing industry.

Headquartered in Southeast Manitoba, Canada, HyLife remains deeply connected to the province where it began. The company’s integrated operations support local agriculture, strengthen rural economies, and help position the province as a trusted source of high-quality food for global markets.
As HyLife looks ahead, its focus remains clear: continue investing in people, strengthening partnerships, improving operations, and delivering premium pork products to customers around the world.
