HyLife Immigration Expert Appointed to Manitoba’s New Advisory Council

She has more than 25 years of experience in citizenship and immigration law; HyLife’s in-house legal counsel, Baerbel Langner, is clearly an expert in her field.

Langner is one of twenty Manitobans recently appointed to a newly created Immigration Advisory Council. The group, officially announced by Advanced Education, Skills and Immigration Minister Jon Reyes and Immigration Advisory Council co-chair Lloyd Axworthy will recommend improvements to current immigration policies and programs.

“Manitoba is and will continue to be a welcoming new home for all newcomers, including immigrants, refugees and their family members, and a destination of choice for international students,” said Minister Jon Reyes in a government media release. “This important work will ensure we’re better able to attract and retain newcomers to help build our economy for the future.”

HyLife, under the sage guidance of Langner, has used the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program to successfully bring workers to rural parts of Manitoba to support our barn and plant operations. Since the arrival of HyLife in the community of Neepawa, Manitoba, in 2008, the town has experienced significant economic growth. This diversity has enriched the culture and has created momentum for a more robust future vision.

Langner looks forward to offering valuable insight from a business perspective and the larger immigration landscape. She is also a past chair of the Canadian Bar Association, National Immigration Section.

“I am honoured to join an accomplished group of Manitobans who are ready to assist with the evolution of immigration policies, one step at a time, as part of the Immigration Advisory Council,” shared Langner.
