HyLife supplies the world with quality pork products that our customers can taste and trust. We are Canada’s largest fully integrated premium pork producer, and our vision is to be the best food company in the world. Our fully integrated approach enables us to exceed industry standards in all aspects of our business. We fully recognize that to create exceptional eating experiences every day, we need to live by our mission to take care of our employees, customers, and communities.

We say what we do and do what we say; this core value is reflected in everything we do. We have a history of sustainability and are always looking for more ways to support our environment. For example, we worked on water conservation, through initiatives big and small, we were able to reduce our usage by 47,908,080 imperial gallons in one year- that is enough H20 to fill 87 Olympic swimming pools!

Our new head office in Steinbach, Manitoba, Canada was built with energy-efficient walls and materials, and also offers charging stations for electric vehicles. We are also currently partnered with Ducks Unlimited to improve the biodiversity near our barns by planting wildflowers and native grass.

These efforts have not gone unnoticed, HyLife was recently named the Seine Rat Roseau Watershed District Award winner. The award honours exemplifying sustainable on-farm best management practices in the community and outstanding commitment to the health of the watershed. We have also been named the inaugural Social Responsibility Award from Manitoba Trucking Association for our dedication to our communities, innovation, and sustainability.

Our Contributions to the UN Sustainable Development Goals

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) represent an urgent call to action for all countries developed and developing to work together in a global partnership to create positive change globally. Our aim as a global food company is to use the globally recognized SDGs within our sustainability strategy to better connect with our stakeholders on the topics that matter most.

As Canada’s leading fully integrated pork producer and a global exporter of affordable pork products, we ensure that we exceed our customer’s expectations through innovative and sustainable agricultural food production processes. We regularly assist families experiencing food insecurity by collaborating with the food banks and soup kitchens in our communities through monetary value or pork product donations.

A Message From Our CEO

Our team has an unwavering commitment to continuously strive to be better. The HyLife sustainability journey began by determining what is important to our company, our employees, and our external stakeholders. Our vision to be the best food company in the world has evolved from solely providing a premium product that our customers can taste and trust. We have expanded on that statement as follows: We provide premium products that our customers can taste and trust while integrating sustainability into our operations based on what is important to our stakeholders.
