HyLife’s Shareholders Recognized as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies

HyLife is excited to announce that earlier this year, the Charoen Pokphand Group (CP) was named one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies for 2021. CP, under Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF), has had majority ownership of HyLife since 2019.

“This is great news,” said Grant Lazaruk, HyLife’s President and CEO. “We knew about CP’s commitment to business integrity when we began our partnership in 2019. To see them get recognized showcases how they are leaders on the world stage. It also reinforces our unwavering commitment to our communities today and into the future.”

The World’s Most Ethical Companies award has been handed out for the last six years and includes honourees spanning 22 countries and 47 industries. This is CP’s first time on the list. They are among seven honourees in the Food, Beverage, and Agriculture industry alongside ADM, Grupo Bimbo, Kellogg, Illy, Ingredion, and PepsiCo. Other notable honourees include LinkedIn, Microsoft, Mastercard, Starbucks, and AT&T.

This award comes from Ethisphere Institute – the global institution for evaluating ethical business standards. This recognition honours companies who prioritize values-based decisions within their business and uphold an overall commitment to integrity.

CP’s operations meet the highest levels of integrity and maintain the highest degree of accountability and transparency to receive this honour. CP’s prioritization of their Corporate Governance Principles ensures these requirements are met. This has allowed CP to deliver long-term value for all stakeholders – ensuring sustainable business growth.

CP focuses on sustainability under three pillars: Food Security, Self-Sufficiency Society, and Balance of Nature. This is based on the core philosophy of three benefits – sustainability for the Country, People, and Company. These core values directly align with HyLife’s mission statement.

“We want to take this opportunity to thank all of the hard work of our 3500 plus employees who continually strive to be the best in and out of work,” added Lazaruk. “Our mission statement is to take care of our employees, customers, and communities. People are our greatest asset, both at HyLife and in our communities, and we don’t want to take that for granted.”
