Celebrating the strength and spirit of the Filipino community is one of the highlights of our summer.

This June, HyLife joined in the vibrant celebrations of Filipino Heritage Day in Neepawa, Manitoba, Canada. The annual event commemorates the anniversary of Philippine Independence, and HyLife was honoured to be a key financial sponsor. We also contributed close to one thousand pounds of premium pork, which was transformed into a cultural feast for the large crowd. Our team of volunteers added to the festivities by marching in the parade alongside colorful cultural floats and dancers, handing out balloons and candy along the way.

Chief Operating Officer, Guy Baudry, was present to express his gratitude for the deep connections fostered over the years. “The Filipino community has been pivotal in shaping Neepawa and HyLife’s journey. We are immensely grateful for the dedication and hard work of our team members, from our Neepawa plant to our farms and feed mills and everything in between,” shared Baudry.

To further show our appreciation, HyLife’s Corporate Chef curated a special menu infused with Filipino flavors. Highlights included slow-cooked and crispy skin pork belly, and Filipino BBQ steak, all served with a rice side. These dishes were a hit, showcasing the rich culinary heritage of the Philippines.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the organizers and the community of Neepawa for including HyLife in these wonderful festivities. Events like these strengthen our bonds and celebrate the diverse cultures that make our communities unique.
