STEINBACH, Manitoba -Six of our dedicated drivers have achieved a historic milestone: a collective 10 million miles of safe driving. That’s the equivalent of circling the Earth more than 400 times or traveling to the moon and back four times. For these professionals, it’s not just about the numbers – it’s about commitment, pride, and an unwavering focus on safety.
Navigating everything from icy winter highways to long rural routes, the drivers represent HyLife and LPR, a transportation company that HyLife owns. Each one consistently prioritizes safety – not only for the products they transport, but also for themselves and everyone they share the road with.
Andy Donaghy has driven more than three million safe miles – a rare achievement and a first for HyLife and LPR.
“I’ve been driving for 31 years now, and I learned everything from my dad, who was a driver too,” shares Donaghy, LPR driver. “I own my own truck, which was gifted to me by a man I worked with for 20 years. Every time I get behind the wheel, I’m grateful for that opportunity.”
To celebrate Andy and the five other drivers who reached significant safe mileage milestones – we gathered for speeches, awards, and a special three-tiered cake representing the one-million, two-million, and three-million milestones.
“It feels surreal. To have everyone cheering – this is something I will always remember. Every day, I just do my best to get home safely to my family,” said Jeffery Rempel, HyLife driver who recently reached one million safe miles.
Each of the six drivers has now been inducted into our HyLife Million Mile Club, with their names placed on a special wall at the head office in Steinbach, Manitoba. This tribute serves as a lasting honour to their incredible achievements.
“It takes a special kind of person to drive – someone with grit, patience, and an unwavering sense of responsibility,” said Sergey Yaglinsky, Manager of Driver Services at HyLife. “The HyLife Million Mile Club is our way of saying thank you to the drivers who’ve literally gone the distance, both safely and consistently.”
Jeff Dotty, who has spent more than four decades on the road and achieved one million safe miles, is now also part of the club. He believes that safety is a mindset.
“Don’t take dangerous chances. It is not worth my life or someone else’s. Knowing your boundaries and your environment is everything,” Dotty shared.
Reaching 10 million safe miles is more than just a milestone – it’s a testament to the professionalism and care demonstrated by our transportation team every single day.
