HyLife’s ‘Room to Give’ Campaign Fills Empty Spaces — and Empty Plates This Holiday Season
This year, we expanded our holiday giving efforts with a visual challenge: to fill rooms, bins, and spaces across Manitoba with food donations for families in need. Our fourth annual HyLife Holiday Helpers initiative launched this year under the theme “Room to Give” — reflecting both the physical act of filling spaces with donations, and the emotional act of making room for compassion, dignity, and hope in seven local communities.

“It is that time of year when we have the opportunity to come together and support our local communities. At our headquarters in Steinbach Manitoba, we challenged our leaders and teams to fill an entire room with donations. Our team stepped up, and you could see the collective act of giving, boxes and cans of food piling up on our third floor all the way from the road at Market Blvd. This HyLife holiday tradition is a powerful example of our commitment to helping those around us,” shared Karan Sangfai, President and Chief Executive Officer, HyLife.
Room by Room, Community by Community
Employees across our locations — including Steinbach, Neepawa, Killarney, Kola, Morris, Leroy, and Saskatchewan — rallied to collect food donations. Departments transformed emptied spaces into overflowing rooms of generosity, supported by a spirit of friendly competition and teamwork. This year’s campaign also emphasized local connections, with donated items scheduled to be delivered to seven regional food banks in the days leading up to the holidays.

“The small act of donating a few items can make a big impact. No matter the size, every contribution directly helps put food on the tables of our neighbors this holiday season,” said Lyle Loewen, Chief Operating Officer, HyLife.
A Powerful Partnership: 2,500 Pounds of Pork for Local Families
In Steinbach, we partnered with Earl’s Meat Market to donate 2,500 pounds of HyLife Premium Pork, prepared into 1,900 sausages.

If linked together, those sausages would stretch approximately 1,600 feet — the full length of four and a half NHL hockey rinks. This donation provides high-quality protein, one of the most needed and least-donated items to food banks.
“We look forward to this partnership every year. We are excited to partner with HyLife to provide food for the hampers. We’re so thankful we can work with HyLife, a wonderful company to be partnering with…. We’re so glad that we can do this every year with them and make sure that people have food at Christmas” shared Earl Funk, Earls Meat Market Owner and Steinbach Mayor.
Making Room for Hope
Through our HyLife Holiday Helpers initiative, we continue to demonstrate our long-term commitment to supporting families, strengthening communities, and empowering our employees to be part of the solution. This year’s “Room to Give” challenge is a powerful reminder of what happens when we choose to make space — and make time — for one another.
