Avoir, HyLife affiliate in Guanajuato State, Mexico, has announced that all certifications and plant listing requirements to allow export of products produced at the Apaseo el Grande plant have been achieved.
Efforts are well underway at this production facility to commence production of high quality hams that meet Japan’s demands and satisfy the requirements of HyLife Foods International Ltd. The first shipment of HyLife branded products is scheduled to take place the week of August 21, 2017.
“We are very pleased to have met the stringent demands required for the safe production of high quality products to meet the demand of the Japanese marketplace” said Mr. Jose Martinez, President of Avoir and co-founder with HyLife, who oversees the importing and marketing of Canadian and USA agricultural products in Mexico and other global markets. “This milestone is the result of a very successful collaboration between the dedicated employees of Avoir, HyLife Foods International, and HyLife’s staff in Canada who have considerable expertise in the market.”
This achievement also includes the expansion of the processing and quick freeze facility located in neighboring Salvatierra. This project will increase the footprint of the facility to 87,000 square feet and provide a 350 tonnes of finished product capability each week. The Salvatierra operation has been designed, in consultation with key customers, to specialize in highly inspected product that will be packaged and ready for the retail consumer, as well as the production of primary ingredients for pork products produced by Japan wholesalers for the retail market.
With steel framing being installed and all equipment components already scheduled for delivery and installation, exported production is expected to begin in mid-November.
