His HyLife journey started in Steinbach, Manitoba, eventually leading to an opportunity to move to the town of Neepawa in 2015. Tyler Lazaruk, HyLife’s Executive Director of Sales & Business Operations, has recently embraced an exciting role at our Neepawa Plant.

“I feel honored to take on this leadership on the management side – our operations, QA, shipping, and supporting our strong workforce at the plant is a top priority. Ensuring that our product is produced safely, each and every day.”

Tyler’s first career opportunity at HyLife was as a swine technician in our southeast Manitoba barns. After graduating high school, he continued his education at the University of Manitoba, attending Asper School of Business.

The summer months between school years, Tyler took every chance he could to intern and gain more experience at HyLife’s operations in Neepawa. After completing his education, Tyler started his full-time career as a sales management assistant and officially made the move to Neepawa.

In 2017, a once in a lifetime career opportunity took Tyler to Japan for 18 months. “It was exciting and very new to me – coming from rural Manitoba to a large city. I was able to get to know our Japan side of the business and learned more about how our premium product is eaten. It was and still is quite a highlight of mine.”

The time overseas has certainly left a mark on Lazaruk. “What we focus on at HyLife is delivering high-quality products that our customers love. It’s fun to take that mindset and strive to make exceptional products.”

Continuing his career in Neepawa has helped him grow, and the town now truly feels like home.

“All our big personal milestones have all happened here in Neepawa – my wife teaches at the Hazel M Kellington elementary school here in town, we built our first house, and we have a little one that attends our local daycare.”

Tyler believes in being an active community member and is proud of HyLife’s ongoing local efforts.

“It always feels good to give back through company initiatives such as HyLife Holiday Helpers, a food drive that supports our neighbours and recent Fun Days event where we donated $40,000 to the Neepawa Kin Club.”
