HyLife Excitement ‘Revs Up’ MJHL Playoffs in Steinbach

Playoff hockey always brings a new level of energy and excitement to players and fans. Friday, March 25, 2022, set the stage for opening night of the MJHL Playoffs and HyLife reeved up that energy and excitement into high gear!

HyLife was pleased to join the first place Steinbach Pistons as their Gameday Partner as they played host to the Selkirk Steelers in Game 1 of their first round series. 645 fans were drawn to the TG Smith Centre for the much-anticipated playoff contest. As fans arrived, there were smiles all around. Everyone received one free HyLife Pork spice bottle custom made by Corporate Chef, JP Charpentier.

After watching an exhilarating Pistons’ opening jumbotron video as players took the ice, HyLife President and CEO, Grant Lazaruk, walked the red carpet to center ice. Lazaruk was joined by City of Steinbach Mayor, Earl Funk, Mascot-HyLife HyDee, and HyLife Employee Volunteers for a ceremonial puck drop with both team captains.

“HyLife is all about community, and that’s what the Pistons are about too.”

– Jamie Roy, Pistons Director of Sales and Marketing

On the ice, the Pistons got to work with a 3-0 lead halfway through the first period. Off the ice, JP was busy cooking up two delicious HyLife Pork choices in the canteen. Fans got to enjoy pulled pork on a bun with coleslaw, and pork dry ribs with JP’s famous rib sauce. HyLife employee volunteers also got to surprise numerous fans with free ribs and prizes throughout the game. During the 1st intermission, one lucky fan got to participate in HyLife’s first ever on-ice target shooting game and took home $150 to the Pistons merchandise store.

The Pistons continued their dominant play in the 2nd and 3rd periods and came out on top with a 5-2 win. By the end of the night, JP had served over $850 in HyLife Pork sales. All of which was donated back to the TG Smith Centre arena.

An MJHL playoff game is an excellent way for sport and local business to come together in a fun community atmosphere.

“HyLife is all about community, and that’s what the Pistons are about too,” said Jamie Roy, Director of Sales and Marketing for the Pistons. “Now that we are able to open up to all of our fans, we can bring the community back together under one united purpose to cheer on our Pistons. It was really cool to partner with HyLife in that.”

This was HyLife’s third 2021-2022 MJHL Game Sponsorship. The previous two were in front of energetic Neepawa crowds that saw over $3,200 raised from HyLife Pork sales and donated back into the community.
