Change, fresh ideas and new leadership is coming to Steinbach and HyLife is excited to partner with the community by donating 5 million dollars to a new Community Events Centre in the city.

“At HyLife we strive to take care of our employees, our customers, and our communities,” said HyLife Chairman Don Janzen. “A strong community is important in building a strong workforce, and we see a Community Events Centre that serves multiple user groups at the center of a strong community.”

Over the last few years, HyLife has been putting money aside into our HyLife Foundation in anticipation of a formal announcement for a Community Events Centre. HyLife supports Paul Neustaedter’s vision and leadership of a Community Events Centre that will fulfill the needs of multiple user groups. HyLife’s vision of a Community Events Centre aligns with Neustaedter’s vision of a space that includes a spectator arena, field house, and a space for arts and cultural development all under one roof.

“We believe a Community Events Centre that serves Steinbach today and into the future needs to have this approach to build the synergies needed for success,” adds Janzen. “And that’s why HyLife wants to partner with the community to make this real and affordable for everyone.”

How will a facility like this impact Steinbach? A spectator arena will provide the community with the option of hosting a wide range of events that would include local functions, hockey games, concerts, and events at the provincial and national level. A Field House gives everyone, from young families to active seniors, the opportunity to do any activity in a controlled atmosphere. That would include a place for all sports groups like basketball, volleyball, and soccer, giving these groups the opportunity to host tournaments with many teams all year round.

A Community Events Centre will also bring more space in arts and cultural development for kids, teens, adults, and seniors. This would include expanded opportunities for our community to grow in music, drama, dance, creative wellness, culinary arts, languages, visual arts and more.

HyLife has a rich history of community support and has always encouraged our employees to get involved in the communities where they live and work.
